Junior to Watch: Donnie Avery
School: Houston (Texas) Hastings

Position: Wide receiver
Size and speed: Donnie Avery is 6–foot-0 and 178 pounds. He has a 40-yard dash time of 4.32 seconds.
Statistics: As a junior, Avery totaled over 900 yards in pass receiving last season, with 11 touchdowns. He also had one interception at cornerback.
Favorite Schools: Avery is hearing from Penn State, Kansas State, TCU and Texas Tech.
“My favorite teams are Arizona and Michigan,” Avery said, “though I haven’t heard from either school yet. Otherwise I’m pretty open.” He has not received any offers yet.
Skinny: “My strength on the field is route running, especially the longer routes.”
Avery is very strong for his size. He benches 290 pounds and squats 460 pounds.
Donnie plans on camping at Texas A&M, Texas and Houston this summer, and might also try to make a camp at Colorado.
“Early playing time will be important to me in looking at colleges.”
“Texas Tech, Arizona and Michigan are definitely teams I would like to visit.”
Avery is looking at computer science as a major in college. His latest grade point average stands at 2.90.
