Speedy Florida runner has three offers

Interest is heating up in Fort Meade (Fla.) all-purpose running back prospect Onterrio McCalebb. The speedy athlete is now up to three scholarship offers, all from BCS Conference programs.
"I have offers from West Virginia, Auburn and Ole Miss," he said. "Auburn is still my leader."

McCalebb talked about the three schools that have offered him.
"I talked to the coach at Auburn and he said that they wanted to use me as a kick returner, a punt returner and a receiver and running back, which is what I want to do," McCalebb said. "With West Virginia, I like how they run their offense. They also want me to play running back and receiver. Ole Miss offered me when I went up there last summer for their camp. I won their fastest man award. They offered me as a wide receiver."
The fastest man award likely was well-deserved. McCalebb has been consistently timed at below 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash and has a best time of 10.45 seconds in the 100-meter dash.
In addition to the Tigers, Rebels and Mountaineers, Florida, Florida State and South Carolina have been showing McCalebb interest.
"Florida said they would be by there in the spring to check me out," he said. "Same thing with Florida State and South Carolina said they would offer after they come by and see me this spring."
McCalebb says there are several things that he is going to be looking for when he goes to make his decision on a college.
"When I go on my official visit, I want to see how everyone in the program acts," he said. "The coaches and facilities also will be important."
McCalebb rushed for more than 1,500 yards and 25 touchdowns during his junior season, he added more than 500 receiving yards and six touchdowns. He is a Rivals250 to watch member for the Class of 2008.
