The Virginia Tech Hokies have received a commitment from one of the fastest players on the east coast.
Danville (Va.) GW-Danville running back Kenny Lewis Jr. committed to the Hokies on Tuesday and will enroll in January of 2004.

"They want me to take an extra semester to get stronger and bigger," said Lewis, a 5-foot-10, 185-pounder with terrific speed. "I've always wanted to play for Virginia Tech and they offered me last week after watching me play. I had more than 130 yards rushing and returned a kickoff for 97 yards. Coach Hite stayed for a half and said he saw all he needed. They offered me the next day."
Lewis also had offers from Tennessee, Maryland, East Carolina and a baseball scholarship from Virginia. However, he wanted to continue the tradition at running back for Tech.
"I want to be the next Untouchable," joked Lewis, whose father Ken Lewis Sr. played for the Hokies as well. "They have the best running backs in the country and I want to be a part of that future."
Lewis joins Centreville High School linebacker Brett Warren as Hokie commitments who will enroll in 2004.
