Speedy Back Very Popular

College coaches looking for a running back with speed and power have been ringing the phone of hook at Andre Callender’s house starting on Sept. 1. The West Orange (N.J.) Seton Hall Prep star, a 5-foot-10, 190-pound blue-chip recruit, is the focus of many top programs in need of a go-to back.
With a 40-yard dash of 4.4 seconds and a 10.6-second 100 meter time, Andre makes defenders look silly at times. Last season he rushed for 1,772 yards in only nine games and averaged almost 10 yards-per-carry. In one of his games as a junior, he carried the ball 10 times for an incredible 312 yards. If gaining big chunks of yardage isn't enough, he also scored 24 touchdowns last season. This super back has his choices narrowed down to five big-time schools.

"My top five are Penn State, Boston College, Michigan State, Clemson and North Carolina. I had always like Rutgers as well, but I just want to go out of state to play."
Andre has been very busy taking phone calls the past few days. All of his favorites have contacted him by telephone as well as many more.
"It's been real busy; my phone has been ringing a lot. Penn State and BC were the first to call me followed by plenty of others."
Andre doesn't have any official visits set up yet, but he plans on changing that soon.
"I'm getting ready to get a few dates together for visits. I would like to visit a few schools during the season. I've been to Penn State already and I liked it, but I'm looking forward to seeing other schools. I should have a few official visits set up by the end of this month.”
