Speedster Lyn-J Dixon picks Clemson

It came down to Clemson and Oklahoma State for Butler (Ga.) Taylor County running back Lyn-J Dixon, but on the first day of the Early Signing Period, he announced he is a Tiger.

Dabo Swinney and his staff made Dixon a target over the summer one week after he committed to Tennessee. Dixon stayed committed to the Vols until mid October and even before then, the Tigers were trending.

The 5-foot-11, 177 pound speedster had his eyes opened in Stillwater last weekend during his official visit, but the Cowboys could not beat out Clemson.

"I made up my mind Tuesday night and this was one of the toughest decisions of my life," said Dixon. "I picked Clemson because of the way they utilize their running backs, their great fans and the type of offense they run."

Dixon was originally planning to announce his decision in February and release a top four a couple of weeks ago. He thought things out a little more and he is happy to be a signee December 20.

"I am very excited about my decision. It will relieve all of the stress and it will be the beginning of the process to making it to the NFL."
