Junior to Watch: Lamar Gordon-Holmes

School: Sayreville, N.J.

Position: Wide Receiver/cornerback

Size and speed: Lamar is 5-foot-8, 178 pounds and runs a 4.43-second 40-yard dash.

Statistics: As a junior, Lamar had 56 catches for 534 yards and one touchdown. He also made 65 tackles and had four interceptions from the cornerback position.

Honors: n/a

Favorite Schools: Lamar lists Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, Pittsburgh, Boston College and Maryland as schools he is interested in.

Skinny: Not very well known at this time, Lamar is looking to make a name for himself. He is extremely fast as he recently ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash at the Athletes’ Edge combine at Rutgers. He also registered a 4.1-second pro agility time and had a 31-inch vertical jump. Although he is only 5-foot-8, he is put together like a linebacker. You need to see him in person to appreciate him.

Lamar runs track for Sayreville and has been timed at 10.9-seconds in the 100 meters and a 10.2-second 100 meters split on his 4x100 relay team. He has excellent hands and runs patterns well. He has the ability to separate himself from defenders and with leaping ability when he gets up after the ball. He may be 5-foot-8, but he plays like he's 8-foot-5.

"I think that schools might label me as too short, but I think my speed and jumping ability makes up for that. I'm looking to have a great senior season so college recruiters can see that I have the ability to play at the D-1 level."
