Spearman plans Signing Day decision

Three-star Chicago (Ill.) Simeon linebacker Reggie Spearman still considers himself a commitment to Illinois, but other schools also hold his interested and a final decision on which school he will sign with is not expected for another few weeks.
"Every school is still in it and I have no favorites right now," Spearman said. "I am just going to hold out until Signing Day and pick my school.

"I am still committed to Illinois right now, but I am still considering other schools so whatever happens on Signing Day happens."
In the coming weeks, Spearman will continue to do his research on the schools still under consideration and seek the counsel of those closest to him.
"I am talking to my coaches, former coaches, seeing how my dad feels about the whole situation," Spearman said. "Getting other people's opinions is great, but when it comes to Signing Day I will probably have that final say-so."
The 6-foot-2, 219-pound Spearman made his commitment to Illinois over the summer. He took an official visit to Champaign last month that reignited his interest in the Illini.
"Coming out of the trip, it definitely opened my eyes," Spearman said. "I got to see not only what the coaches wanted me to see, but also see it from the player's perspective and how they feel about the school. I really liked it."
Spearman also took an official visit to Iowa back in November. The Hawkeyes and Illini are the only two programs he has officially visited.
"Any visit that comes up I will take it, but right now I have none planned out," Spearman said.
Other schools Spearman continues to keep in regular contact with are Minnesota, Houston, Indiana and Hawaii.
