Spartans offer Dietzen

After adding his first two offers from Nebraska and Wisconsin over the summer, Seymour (Wisc.) 2015 offensive lineman Jon Dietzen had to wait until Tuesday to land offer No. 3.
"My coach had talked to Coach [Mark] Staten at Michigan State, and my coach let me know that he wanted to give me an offer," Dietzen reported. "It was pretty awesome to think the Big Ten champs and Rose Bowl champs had interest in me."

Tuesday was the first time Dietzen had heard from Staten, but he has been in contact with other members of the Michigan State staff in the past.
"I was talking with Coach [Brad] Salem," Dietzen said. "He brought up a specific play on one of my highlights about a big run-block I had. I think they like my aggressiveness."
The next step for Dietzen in his recruitment with Michigan State is to make a trip to East Lansing and check out the program.
"I don't really know much about it, but obviously they have a great program and I've heard good things about their campus," he said. "It would be pretty fun to get up there. I'll have to check my schedule and look at my dates."
Dietzen is still formulating his junior day schedule, but does have one date on the calendar already.
"I believe I am going Feb. 1 to the Badgers junior day," he said. "I am actually going to visit the day before, then check out the junior day. I think I have a lot of interest coming from them. Being an in-state lineman, they kind of pride themselves on that."
The 6-foot-5, 305-pound Dietzen is ranked as the No. 1 prospect in Wisconsin's 2015 class and the No. 42 offensive tackle prospect nationally.
