Sparrow visits UNC

Chesapeake (Va.) Western Branch athlete Javanti Sparrow took an unofficial visit over the weekend. The 6-foot-0, 190-pounder made his way to Chapel Hill to check out North Carolina.
"It was a really good visit," he said. "I could see myself there.

"I walked around, met some of the players and coaches. The coaches there were showing me a lot of love. I talked a bit to Brandon Tate and spent time with the defensive back's coach. He was telling me how he'd use me in schemes on defense."
Sparrow made the trip for the game. What did he think?
"It was a good one," he said. "Unfortunately they lost, they should have won. They played better than Tech and I feel they played their hearts out."
Following the game, Sparrow met with the coaches.
"I talked to the wide receiver's coach and defensive back's coach for a long time. They both really like me and deeply want me at North Carolina. I'm taking them into consideration."
Currently Sparrow claims a verbal offer from the Tar Heels.
Does the two-star prospect have any other visits in mind?
"I'm looking at going up to Penn State on November 6th. I may try to visit Rutgers and perhaps Virginia. I have verbals from most of those schools, but Virginia has given me a written."
Sparrow claims a couple schools are leading for his services.
"I like Virginia and North Carolina. I like the overall academics, defense and their winning ability."
