Spano takes over at Stephenville

Having to sit behind the likes of former Rivals100 member and Texas signee Jevan Snead was not the easiest thing in the world for junior quarterback Kody Spano, but now that he's running the show for his high school team, the statistics are piling up.
The 6-foot-3, 200-pounder is enjoying his first year starting at Stephenville (Texas) High School and so far has racked up 2,250 yards and 29 touchdowns so far this season. The dual-threat signal caller, as expected, is hearing from several schools already.

"I'm getting a lot of mail and I've gotten some text messages here and there," Spano said. "Oklahoma State, I've been in contact with them, and also Iowa, LSU, Alabama, and schools like that."
Spano, a Lone Star quarterback, says he actually has a favorite school in SEC country.
"I like Auburn," Spano said. "I don't know what it is. I really want to go out-of-state and I really like the SEC. That's just one of the schools in that conference that I really like."
As for this being his first year starting, Spano says that it's been quite an experience.
"I think I've exceeded my expectations and I've performed well," Spano said. "I'm a mix of a lot of things. I can run the ball and throw the ball. I'm a leader both with my actions and my words. I kind of do a little bit of everything."
Spano's Stephenville team is heading into the playoffs which begin this week.
