Spano still strong with Cowboys

After making a very early commitment to Oklahoma State, most would have figured things would have quieted down for quarterback Kody Spano.
Regardless, the 6-foot-2, 202-pounder says that after his commitment the mail increased from schools such as Nebraska, Alabama, Auburn, and several others. That didn't change his feelings about his original decision.

"Right now, I'm set on Oklahoma State," Spano said. "It's the coaches, the football team, it just felt like family. The offense fits me perfectly. It's exactly the same as ours here. That's a big part of it as well. The way they handle everything – it's great.
"It's going to be a good place and a good fit for me."
Spano says that he also received a scholarship offer from Ole Miss along with TCU aside from OSU. His relationship with coach Larry Fedora and his constant communication helped him keep his commitment strong.
He also took a trip to Stillwater several weeks ago and enjoyed his time.
"I talk to coach Fedora quite a bit," Spano said. "With text messages and stuff like that, we stay in contact. I had a good time when I went up there too. I was up there a few weeks ago and I got to watch practice. That was pretty cool."
Aside from his still strong commitment, Spano is looking forward to getting back to work on the practice field.
"We start spring ball on April 23," Spano said. "The team is looking good. We're going to be a lot better going through spring practice this year. I think it's going to help us a lot."
