Spangler lands his first offer

Charlottesville (Va.) St. Anne's-Belfield kicker Logan Spangler pulled in his first scholarship in the past month. Who pulled the trigger on the 6-foot-0, 195-pounder?
"I got that offer in late October," he said. "I can't ask for a better school academically. I know Army will take care of you for you're whole life. I'm definitely considering it, but I'm hoping for more offers at this time."

While Army has pulled the trigger, a few other schools are continuing to eye the two-star prospect.
"I went to the William & Mary game over the weekend and was at Elon a couple weeks ago," he stated. "I really enjoyed it at William & Mary. I think they are one of my top choices as far as academics and campus. I liked every aspect of that school.
"William & Mary seems pretty close to offering. Elon is kind of talking about it, they are waiting on senior film. Wake Forest told me they are going to offer a punter this year. Their special teams coach watched me and really likes me."
One other school is continuing to be in the mix as well.
"I'm really interested in Virginia Tech," he said. "They aren't going to offer though at least right away. I believe they want two or three walk-ons and whoever wins the job gets the scholarship.
"I was supposed to go to Tech this weekend, but I'm talking about going for the Virginia game."
Spangler recently finished up his year and averaged over 40-yards a punt on the season.
"I think I played extremely well in the last half of the year," he said. "I was best in clutch plays.
"I had one ball go over my head and at first was going to kick it out of the endzone, but I picked it up and kicked it downfield to the 40-yard line."
