Position: Cornerback and running back.
Size, Speed, and Grades: Ellis is 5-foot-11 and 180 pounds. He said he ran a 4.41 at the Miami Nike Camp and his vertical jump of 35.4 inches was good for fourth best at the camp. Ellis has an approximate grade point average of 3.0.
Honors: Ellis was named to All Conference and All Space Coast teams last season.
Statistics: Ellis estimated he had over 50 tackles last season but could not recall his exact stats.
Favorites: Ellis said his favorite schools are Miami, UCF, Florida State, and Boston College.
Skinny: Letters have been pouring in for one of the best players on Florida's Space Coast, Palm Bay's CB/RB Ron Ellis. "FSU, Central Florida, Notre Dame, Alabama, Harvard, Yale, Iowa, Georgia Tech... Any team, you name it," Ellis said. "The letters are coming in."
Ellis currently doesn't have any scholarship offers, but he does have a few favorites in mind. He likes three of the state schools-- Miami, UCF, and Florida State, and also Boston College. If he could he would prefer to stay close to home. "I really want to stay in Florida," Ellis said.
Ellis played cornerback, safety, and running back at Astronaut High School last fall, but thinks he will be recruited to play in the secondary-- most likely at corner. "I played mostly corner last season," Ellis said. "That's my favorite position to play too. I like to compare myself to Ed Reed being a DB. I like the way he hits and that he's always aggressive to the ball. I believe I'm that type."
