Southern schools have the edge

West Chester (Ohio) Lakota West defensive end Solomon Thomas' list of scholarship offers continues to grow.
"I have offers from North Carolina State, Louisville, Arizona State, Boston College, Illinois, Cincinnati, Miami of Ohio, Buffalo, Akron, Marshall -- I think that might be it," Thomas said. "I've had calls recently from Tennessee and North Carolina State. And they both came to my school."

Thomas has had calls from other recruiters too.
"A West Virginia coach called," he said. "Louisville called. Coach Dawson from Illinois and coach Horton from Boston College called."
Thomas says weather could definitely play a role in his college choice.
"People say go somewhere you like the weather," Thomas said. "And my father plans to move down south, so the southern schools stand out a little."
North Carolina State, Tennessee, Louisville and Virginia Tech are schools in the South that Thomas mentioned.
"I'll probably get down to Louisville and Tennessee," Thomas said. "And I have an official visit set up to North Carolina State Nov. 4. I think they play Georgia Tech that weekend."
Thomas has also not ruled out his home-state school.
"Ohio State sends three to five letters a week," Thomas said. "I'll definitely take a look at them, that's without question."
The 6-foot-4 and 210-pound Thomas is one of the Top 10 prospects in the state of Ohio. Thomas made 68 tackles during his junior season and had nine sacks and 16 tackles for loss.
