Southern Columbia has two prospects in 2008

Catawissa (Pa.) Southern Columbia is home to two potential Division I prospects in 2008. Rivals caught up with head coach Jim Roth to find out more on his talented prospects.
Leading the way on offense is 6-foot-2, 200-pound quarterback Ted Heitzman.

"He's a little bit under the radar since he didn't throw the ball a whole lot last year," he said. "He hasn't gotten the exposure some other kids have, but he has a lot of potential. Schools are probably not going to show him offers until summer camps and after he plays his senior year.
"In terms of his play, he has a very strong arm, good decision making skills and a solid pocket presence. I'm hoping he'll grow to 6-foot-3 because if he's a couple inches bigger he'd definitely be there. He has all the intangibles. Off the field, he's a great individual, an honor student with a strong family background."
A variety of schools are already taking a look at Heitzman.
"Temple, Penn State, Boston College, Pittsburgh are all showing interest," Roth said. "I know he's looking at going to camps at those three this summer."
Heitzman isn't the only one to watch though as one of his leading blockers, 6-foot-4, 300-pound offensive guard Tyler Wilson is receiving his share of interest as well.
"He's getting a lot of mailings from Division I schools although is still under the radar," he said. "He played next to Josh Marks last year, but isn't quite as strong as him and is very young still at just 16-years old.
"As a player, he runs well for a 300-pounder and is very good at keeping low and doing those things a lineman can do. He works hard in the weight room and is a very strong student academically that'll have no issue qualifying. He's not going to get a lot of offers as a junior, but should be able to work towards them next season."
Two schools are already scheduled to get a better look at Wilson this summer when he attends camps at Boston College and Pittsburgh.
