Southeast: Top 5 uncommitted prospects

The Skinny: Craig-Myers was once committed to Auburn, but broke that pledge earlier in the offseason. There are a number of schools involved, but the most likely landing spots for the Florid-based five-star are Florida State and Auburn. He'll take some other visits, but that pecking order seems to be sturdy for the time being.
If today were Signing Day ... The longer Craig-Myers' recruitment drags on, the more unlikely a second commitment to Auburn starts to seem. Florida State has to be seen as the frontrunner here. If today were decision day, the top wide receiver in the country would be a Seminole.

ATH
Demetris Robertson
Savannah (Ga.) Christian
The Skinny: Robertson was committed to Alabama for the better part of a year before opening up his recruitment. Right now, Stanford appears to be in the best position to land the versatile athlete. However, just because he spurned the Tide once doesn't mean they are out of the picture. Robertson has maintained that they are still very much in the mix and lists them right near the top with the Cardinal. Georgia is also a factor and Robertson is set to visit campus with his mother this weekend. A solid trip could help the Dawgs make up ground.
If today were Signing Day ... When Stanford joined the mix for Robertson earlier this year, he was so excited that it was almost if he were ready to commit at that moment. With an extended visit to The Farm set for later this month, the Cardinal remain the most likely destination for Robertson.

DT
Derrick Brown
Sugar Hill (Ga.) Lanier
The Skinny: Brown has had an interesting recruitment as he has gone from a likely Georgia lock to now one of the most unpredictable recruitments in the state. Brown has taken a long look at Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee, with that trio of programs seeming like the biggest threat to the Dawgs. Brown has kept pretty quiet about his recruitment in recent interviews, but it's clear Tennessee has closed the gap on the other three schools and will be a major factor down the road.
If today were Signing Day ... Georgia remains the team to beat for Brown, but his commitment isn't as much of an inevitability as it was last year at this time. Georgia can regain its grip on Brown with an excellent visit this weekend, but expect there to be plenty of twists and turns before it's all said and done.

LB
Ben Davis
Gordo, Ala.
The Skinny: Davis is planning to wait until National Signing Day to announce his commitment and has been pretty coy about what he may be thinking in recent weeks. He intends to take official visits to Florida State, USC, LSU and two other schools this fall, but Alabama is the team to beat in this race. Davis' father is the Tide's all-time leading tackler and the allure of Bama is strong in his case.
If today were Signing Day ... Davis to Alabama isn't a lock, but it certainly seems likely. The Crimson Tide don't normally miss on in-state prospects like Davis that have emotional ties to the home-state school. Davis was born in Arizona and lived there until he was in fifth grade. Still, he's not seen as a serious threat to attend college on the West Coast.
Two Florida prospects locked up their commitment to in-state schools, but don't rule out an eventual flip. Here are two committed prospects who are still looking around.
1
WR
Sam Bruce
Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas
The Skinny: Bruce, a Miami commit, has been open about the fact that he's looking at other schools. He has not shied away from campus visits or extended conversations with other coaching staffs. That said, the four-star wide receiver insists that his wandering eye is designed only to locate fallback options should things go awry at Miami.
If today were Signing Day ...He would likely sign with the Hurricanes. Bruce says that he will make good on his longstanding verbal commitment should the current coaching staff stay in place, and that is the case at the moment. All bets are off should head coach Al Golden fail to retain his current title until February, though.

DB
Chauncey Gardner
Cocoa, Fla.
The Skinny: Gardner has been committed to Florida twice. He is still welcoming in new offers and will likely take official visits once the season begins. There's plenty of reason to think another school could grab his attention and flip his commitment as National Signing Day approaches.
If today were Signing Day ... If forced to make the call today, Gardner would likely sign with the Gators. It's what could take place during official visit season that should worry UF fans. Gardner has already expressed interest in seeing what else is out there and is likely to tour the campuses of a number of schools this fall.
