South Sumter LB Has Dream School

South Sumter High School in Bushnell, Fla. is home to several top recruits this year and while Earl Everett may be getting the most notoriety, another solid player is also getting lots of interest. Inside linebacker Ben Moffitt has received one scholarship offer during May and is getting contact from dozens of schools.
Florida, Florida State, Miami, South Florida, South Carolina, Alabama, and LSU are among the schools that have stopped by his high school to watch practices. The University of South Florida, who has signed several South Sumter players in recent years, has offered Moffitt. UF however is Moffitt's "dream school."

"I've always been a Florida fan growing up," Moffitt said. "That's always been my team. It was always a dream maybe to play for them ever since I was little."
Moffitt attended Florida's spring game and also plans on camping there this summer. His team will also attend the South Florida camp.
Ben recorded 140 tackles as a sophomore, had 120 last year and was named third team All State. Earlier this year in weightlifting he set a state record-- in the 238 pound weight class he set the clean and jerk record (338 pounds).
Moffitt, who is 6-foot-2 and 230 pounds, runs the forty-yard dash in 4.6 seconds. He said Miami Dolphins linebacker Zach Thomas is his favorite football player.
"My sister lived next door to some of the Miami Dolphin football players so I got his autograph and got to meet him," Moffitt said. "That was pretty cool."
Moffitt has a 3.6 grade point average and would prefer to remain in the state of Florida to play college football.
"I'd like to stay close to home," Moffitt said. "Also where God wants me to go. I'll be praying a lot about it."
