Favorites: Everett said his favorite school was Miami followed by Florida State and South Florida.
Skinny: There may not be a more versatile player in Florida than South Sumter's Earl Everett. He can almost do it all on the football field. Everett has played quarterback, running back, wide receiver, tight end, outside linebacker, and strong safety.
"My coaches say I'm kind of like a Kordell Stewart, a slash kind of guy playing at different positions," Everett said.
The scholarship offers are also piling in for this terrific athlete-- his offer sheet now includes Miami, Florida State, Florida, South Florida, and Georgia. FSU and USF came to his high school last week to watch him practice.
Any favorites among those schools?
"My favorite is Miami," Everett said. "They have a great atmosphere. I also Florida State and I kind of like South Florida. I've been down to a couple of USF's games during the regular season and they're building a great program."
Everett said the biggest things he will look for when choosing a school is education and the amount of players on their depth chart.
"I wouldn't want to go to a school where I'd have to wait until my senior year to play," Everett said.
Everett, who will likely end up as an outside linebacker in college, plans on camping at the University of Florida this fall. He isn't going to rush his college decision.
"I think I'll probably make a decision late," Everett said. "Right now I haven't really made up my mind where I really want to go. Right now all doors are open."
South Sumter will play Wildwood for a spring jamboree on Saturday, May 18th.
