South Jersey defensive back has options

Rather quietly, defensive back Joe Sarnese of Absecon (N.J.) Holy Spirit has put himself into a very good position with recruiting. While he decided to commit to a program, Sarnese has also decided to keep his options open until National Signing Day.
Sarnese, 6-foot-0 and 194 pounds, verbally committed to Villanova back in September, but remains open-minded.

"As of right now, Villanova, Central Michigan and Western Michigan have offered me," said Sarnese. "I'm also still hearing from Rutgers and James Madison."
He has also yet to take any visits this fall, but will look to visit both Villanova and Central Michigan when the time allows.
"I'm planning on taking a few officials after my season is over," said Sarnese.
So what led the South Jersey defensive back to commit to Villanova?
"I just felt it was a good fit," said Sarnese. "It isn't too close or too far from home. The program just won a National Championship, so they seem like they are headed in the right direction."
Sarnese also explained his current recruiting situation.
"Well I want to consider all of my options," he said. "I don't want to block out any schools until I'm positive I don't want to go there."
Sarnese will have to wait a few more weeks before he has time to take any visits, as he has helped Holy Spirit to an undefeated season to this point.
"I think I've played well individually, but more importantly as a team we are 8-0 heading into the playoffs," said Sarnese. "It looks pretty good."
Playing free safety and wide receiver, Sarnese has totaled approximately 70 tackles, three interceptions, one of which was returned for a touchdown, three forced fumbles and four receiving touchdowns.
