South Georgia OL picks up first offer

There has been much talk about how deep the 2005 class is on the offensive and defensive lines. That is especially true in Georgia, where many big men have garnered scholarship offers. Warner Robins Houston County offensive lineman Nic Riley was added to that list wth a recent offer from Louisville.
“So far Louisville is the only offer I have, but I am getting attention from a lot of other schools,” Riley said. “I’ve gotten calls from Florida, Ball State, Troy State, UT-Chattanooga and Louisville so far. I’ve been getting letters from a lot more than that though.”

Standing at 6-foot-5, 265 pounds, Riley could project as an offensive tackle or guard on the next level.
“I went to Georgia’s junior day and also Auburn’s junior day," he said. "I really enjoyed both of those visits. My favorite visit so far, though was when I went to Ole Miss for their spring game. It is the visit that has really stuck out. I really liked the campus and the small, college town atmosphere that it has.”
Riley is quick on his feet running the 40-yard dash in 5 seconds. He has a 310-pound bench press and 425-pound squat.
“My top schools right now are Ole Miss, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Florida, Auburn, Louisville, Ball State and Boston College," he said. "I would probably have to say that my leaders right now are Ole Miss and Louisville.”
Riley plans to attend an offensive lineman camp at Furman as well as team camps at Auburn, Georgia, Ole Miss and Florida.
“It was pretty cool getting my first offer," he said. "The Louisville coach came by and watched my film with my coach and told him that they were going to offer and then my coach told me. A few days later the Louisville coach called me and told me that they were offering.”
An excellent, academic student Riley carries a 3.9 GPA and has already scored a 1240 on the SAT.
