South Florida QB makes a decision

Palm Beach (Fla.) Dwyer’s Pete Martinsen is arguable the top quarterback in South Florida. Several schools from the Midwest were recruiting him for his services. After spending time this summer either camping or visiting most of the schools in the Big-10, one team came out on top.
“I committed to Minnesota,” Martinsen said. “They were the first school to offer me, and when I went up there to visit the school, I fell in love with Minneapolis. Minnesota is a problem on the rise, and I think that I can help attract some athletes to attend there with me. I actually talked to a couple of prospects from Florida about attending with me.”

Martinson was also attracted to the Golden Gophers because of some early playing time. He still wants to take some visits to some other school before signing a letter of intent in February.
“I would love to take a visit to both Florida and Michigan State,” Martinsen said. “Most the schools in the Big-10 and the Florida want to see me play two games this fall before they decide to offer.
The 6-foot-5 and 220 pound all-conference quarterback passed for more than 1,300 yards and 16 touchdowns as a junior.
