Recruiting wrap: Byrd is still waiting on his first offer.
Performance: Byrd made plays all over he field against the run and the pass. He was good at shedding blocks, shooting gaps and bringing down the ball carrier. Against the pass, Byrd got into his drop quickly and was able to run with the running backs and the tight ends. He did come up with an interception and returned it for a touchdown.

CB
Kimar Martin
Deerfield Beach (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Martin is waiting on his first offer.
Performance: Martin isn't the biggest defensive back but he was very opportunistic. He made some very big plays when the defense really needed them. Martin brought down a couple interceptions, including a very impressive one on a deep pass to the end zone. He has a very long arms and is a great leaper so he was able to compete with the bigger receivers.

SDE
Owen Carney (2017)
Miramar (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Carney has yet to receive his first offer but interest has arrived from Miami, Minnesota, and Virginia Tech.
Performance: Carney was very active on the edge for Miramar. He was quick off the ball, did a great job at the point of attack, and was able to get off blocks with relative ease. He was a constant presence in the Killian backfield and played with strong technique. He was able to get great hand position and extend before making the play. Whether he was getting penetration off the edge or holding his ground, he was able to get the job done.

CB
Korel Smith
Miramar (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Smith has not grabbed his first offer, but West Virginia and Miami are watching closely.
Performance: Smith has a solid build and he likes to get physical. He is definitely a leader on the Marimar defense and a guy his teammates look up to on the field. He was beat once, but he quickly shook it off and got back to work. He was able to help against the run and he was right with his man down the field. He just missed out on a few interceptions.

WDE
Jimmy Harper
Deerfield Beach (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Harper does not have any offers right now.
Performance: Harper was an absolute beast for the better part of the games on Saturday. He played with great leverage and was able to consistently collapse the pocket. Harper was able to beat his man inside and had a few sacks that resulted in fumbles.

S
Brian Edwards (2017)
Miramar (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Miami is at the top of Edwards' list with Cincinnati and Louisville rounding out his current top three.
Performance: Edwards is a big rangy, athlete on the back end of the Marimar defense. He is hard not to notice and he is intimidating. He rarely lets anything get behind him and he is able to quickly change direction. His highlight came when he had to change direction to catch a receiver across the back of the endzone. He was not only able to close on the ball but he made a nice play to break up the pass.

DT
Jamari Rouse (2017)
Deerfield Beach (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Rouse is still waiting on his first offer.
Performance: Rouse set the edge of the defensive front and did a good job of containing plays that were intended to go to the outside. At 6-foot-3, 250-pounds, he has a great frame and there is still room for him to add more muscle. Rouse played with a mean streak and used his leverage to get a good push on some of the biggest offensive linemen on the field.

SDE
Terrell Lucas
Miramar (Fla.)
Recruiting wrap: Tulane was the first school to extend an offer to Lucas.
Performance: Lucas had some strong moments and overwhelmed his opponent with a strong first step. He was able to get into the Killian offense backfield for several big plays. He had a couple of nice sacks and caused a fumble. He came off the ball low and extended and was able to hold leverage throughout the play. Overall, it was a solid effort.
