School: Coral Gables (Fla.)

Position: Middle linebacker
Size and Speed: Frierson is 6-foot and 215 pounds. He has been timed in the 40-yard dash at 4.5 seconds and he has a grade point average of 2.4.
Honors: Frierson was selected to the all-county team as a junior.
Statistics: Frierson racked up 142 tackles, six sacks and four interceptions a junior.
Favorites: Frierson likes Rutgers, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Alabama, and Auburn. He‘s open among all of his favorites.
Skinny: For past few years, Coral Gables (Fla.) High has been a pipeline for the University of Miami. Graduates such as Jonathan Vilma, Frank Gore and Alex Pou have signed on with the Hurricanes. Will All-Dade County linebacker Quintero Frierson be the next to join his former teammates?
“My top five schools are Rutgers, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Alabama and Auburn,” Frierson said.” “I do have some interest in Miami, Florida State and Florida but they haven’t shown as much interest as the other schools.”
Frierson, who grew up idolizing Ray Lewis, is known for being a sound run-stopper, and he touts that as being his main strength.
“My strength is plugging up holes and getting to the ball,” Frierson said. “I run sideline to sideline.”
So far Rutgers is the only team to offer him.
This spring Frierson camped at the Miami Nike camp, and this summer he’ll attend the Auburn football camp.
Head Coach Joe Montoya’s comments:
“Frierson led our defense in tackles, and he was third in county for tackles. He’s a hell of a player, and he reminds me of Jonathan Vilma.”
