South Florida Express: Recruiting Notebook

MIAMI – A two-day event, South Florida Express 7-on-7 tryouts called together some of the most notable underclassmen in the region. And while only a few handfuls of prospects made the team, there was a wealth of talent on display. Many of the prospects that showed up to the open call are prospects with multiple FBS offers. Below are news and notes on the respective recruitments of players in attendance.

* Michigan continues to lead the recruitment of 2016 wide receiver Keyshawn Young, who showed up to express tryouts as a spectator. Young hopes to visit Tennessee, USC and either Alabama or Miami before announcing a decision. According to Young, South Carolina is also being considered heavily. Young, who attended the event as a spectator, will wait until Signing Day to make a verbal commitment.

* Rivals250 defensive back Trajan Bandy, a class of 2017 prospect arrived at Express tryouts sporting a Clemson visor. Bandy decided against working out at the event but observed from the sideline. According to Bandy, Clemson leads his recruitment with Oklahoma, Auburn, Tennessee and others clustered together in second place.

* Four-star defensive back Marco Wilson continues to rehabilitate from a knee injury. The Rivals250 prospect is nearing 100-percent and hopes to visit Ohio State, Clemson, Oklahoma and USC this offseason. Wilson names Ohio State, Miami, Florida, Oklahoma, Tennessee and Clemson as his early leaders. Wilson’s father attended Miami and he currently has a brother playing for Florida. That said, the class of 2017 prospect insists neither family tie will dictate his recruitment.
