South Florida DE with second offer

Clarence Murphy is a defensive end prospect from Hollywood (Fla.) Hills High School. Murphy, 6-2 and 230 pounds, received his second scholarship offer over the weekend. This one came from a local program, Florida International.
"FIU offered me on Saturday," Murphy said. "It's a nice school and I had a chance to visit them for their spring game. They are a team with a very good defensive line. The school is pretty nice and close to home. The coaching staff is good. I have met the defensive coordinator (Phil Galiano) and head coach (Mario Cristobal). They seem like cool people. They seem like people you can talk with and learn things from."

Murphy received his first scholarship offer last week from Maryland. A Big 10 school may be on the verge of offering him soon.
"I think Minnesota is close to offering me. I had a good talk today with their defensive line coach (Tim Cross). They are losing defensive linemen and I think I will have a chance to play early there. We'll see what happens."
Last season as a junior Murphy recorded 60 tackles and six sacks.
