Delvin Jones is one of the top prospects in the talent rich county of Dade county in south Florida. Jones, 6-6 and 230 pounds, is from Miami (Fla.) Palmetto High School. He also is a star on the defensive side of the ball at defensive end. He recently transferred from LaSalle to Palmetto and he was hoping to have a great spring.
"I didn't participate in spring that much because I had a torn meniscus," Jones said. "I actually tore it last year. I played with it all spring and finally got a MRI. I had to get surgery last Monday. I am doing all alright and rehabbing now. I should be running in two or three weeks. It was tough because I couldn't really practice with my new team."
Jones didn't have any scholarship offers at the start of this recruiting season back in February. Now he currently holds over two dozen offers. Things have really changed for the better for this outstanding two way athlete.

"USC is still my favorite for now. They produce players and they like me as a wide receiver. I would also say that Tennessee is right there. I am going up there on the (June) 14th. I really like the new staff. Plus, Lane Kiffin used to coach at USC. You could say they are my frontrunners.
"I also like Alabama. They offered me two to three weeks ago. They play with a ton of speed and I love their defense.
"Some schools like me at receiver and some prefer me on defense. I want to play on offense."
Jones will have a busy summer. In another week or so he and his cousin will jump in a car and visit a bunch of schools.
"We are going to just start driving to different place. I know we will see schools like Florida, FSU, Georgia, and Georgia Tech. We are kind of winging that trip but we should see a bunch of schools."
