Steven Montgomery picked up his fourth scholarship late last week. This one came from the Big 10 and Montgomery was excited to receive this latest offer.
"Minnesota offered late Friday afternoon," Montgomery said. "That was number four. I don't know too much about them but I know they have had some big time players come out of there. I also know that Minnesota recruits a lot down here"
So will Montgomery try and make it up north to visit the Gopher campus and coaching staff?
"Right now I plan on trying to visit them but I also want to take it slow and see. I want to see what comes in. I just can't say for sure. I have talked with their staff and I am supposed to speak with their DB coach tomorrow. Then they are supposed to come to the school next week. They will be down here to recruit."
UCF, Maryland, Western Kentucky, Minnesota are now the schools that have offered him. Is there a favorite out of that group?
"I like Maryland. They were the first offer and I have a relationship with the coaches there. I will probably take a summer visit or official visit up there."
Montgomery, 5-10 and 184 pounds, just recently transferred to Miramar High School. He's a versatility defensive back that can play just about every position in the secondary.
