Skinny: Boca Raton is one home of one of the hottest athletes in the state. Jimmy Sutton, a two-way standout, will be able to choose any school he wishes before it’s all over. So far in his high school career, he has stared at both wide receiver and cover corner. With his versatility and athleticism, it’s easy see why three schools have already offered with more on the way soon.
“Rutgers, Indiana, and Central Florida have offered me,” Sutton said. “The Florida schools haven’t been by my school yet. My top five are Miami, Florida, Texas, North Carolina State and Indiana. Right now, I’m open among all of my favorites.”
Sutton, who is open to playing either offense or defense in college, admitted that his heart is with Miami and Florida.
“Miami and Florida were my two favorite teams growing up,” Sutton said. “They both have a lot of all-around good players that are well taught. They send players to the NFL. Distance will be a factor and that’s also why I like those two schools. I have three brothers and six sisters at home, and I would like to be close to my family.”
At the recent Miami Nike camp, Sutton turned heads by running a blazing 40-yard dash in 4.4 seconds and registering a vertical jump of 35 inches. He also tore it in last year’s playoffs by catch 25 passes for 500 yards in only two games.
Sutton’s stock is on the rise and schools will be standing in line to offer this special talent.
