South Florida ATH has SEC offers

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Cardinal Gibbons athlete David Blackwell has seen his stock rise significantly during the spring evaluation period. He currently holds five scholarship offers, including three from Southeastern Conference programs.
"Recruiting has been going pretty good," he said. "I've been talking to a lot of college coaches and I've picked up some offers."

The 6-foot-2, 207-pound Blackwell currently holds offers from Arkansas, LSU, Ole Miss, Florida International and Florida Atlantic. All of the programs that have offered him have his attention.
"I have a lot of interest in all of them," he said. "Some are recruiting me to play quarterback and some for defense."
Blackwell projects as a strong safety on defense.
Earl Lane is recruiting Blackwell for the Tigers.
"I know it's a big-time program," he said. "LSU is a pretty good school. Coach Lane is a pretty good coach."
Former Miami assistant Art Kehoe is recruiting Blackwell for the Rebels.
"I know a lot about Ole Miss," he said. "(Deerfield Beach native) Brent Schaeffer goes there."
There are two programs currently recruiting Blackwell that he feels could be close to offering.
"I think Alabama and Indiana are close right now," he said.
None of the schools currently have the edge for Blackwell's services, but he knows what he is looking for in a school.
"I really don't have a favorite right now," he said. "The business program is going to be the most important factor in my decision. I want to major in Business."
Blackwell has a busy summer planned
"I'm probably going to a lot of camps, but I don't know which ones," he said. "I'll also be traveling with my AAU basketball team. "
