South Carolina OL has new top two

Union, S.C., four-star offensive lineman and Rivals100 selection Eric Young has listed South Carolina as his long, long, long time leader. But after making an unofficial visit last weekend, it’s starting to look like this race isn’t over quite yet.

“I was at Tennessee last weekend,” Young, whois 6-foot-4 and 270 pounds, said. “It had a ball up there. It was so exciting and the atmosphere is so great. The facilities were also fabulous – probably the best that I’ve seen.”
But it was a certain conversation with coach Phillip Fulmer that really helped push Tennessee into the co-leader spot with South Carolina now.
“We had a great talk,” Young said. “He let me sit in his chair and see what it’s like to be in the head coach’s position. I got to feel special and it was kind of cool to see what it’s like to be in his shoes, and I really appreciated how honest he was with me.
“Tennessee has caught up with South Carolina now.”
Young is going to visit South Carolina unofficially this weekend for the game against Georgia. Georgia is also on Young’s list, so is he going to predict a big winner this weekend?
“I think South Carolina is going to have to bring it’s A game,” he said. “It should be a great game.”
Along with South Carolina and Tennessee at the top, Young said Clemson, Georgia and Florida are right there behind those at the top.
“It’s back and forth with me every day,” he said. “I could put them all in a hat and pick one and feel good about the team that I’d pull out.”
