If Stephon Gilmore isn't one of the best juniors in the state of South Carolina then he certainly has some people fooled. Gilmore, a member of the Rivals.com 100 to watch for 2009, has already received an offer from Clemson after visiting the Tigers for their home opener. Now it seems South Carolina has gotten in the mix.

"South Carolina offered me on my visit there this weekend," Gilmore said. "I got to talk to the defensive coordinator and he offered me as a defensive back.
"I had a good trip," said Gilmore about the weekend. "The stadium was really cool and it was loud. I like South Carolina."
At 6-foot-1 180-pounds, Gilmore is listed as an athlete and has the potential to play defensive back or wide receiver at the next level and his two recent in-state offers are likely the first of many more to come.
"Alabama is sending me a lot of mail and Florida is talking to me," said Gilmore. "I would like to get offers from both of them."
Despite all of the early interest, Gilmore is still staying focused on his season as his South Pointe team is off to a strong start.
"We're playing well so far," he said. "We're 4-0 and we play our rival Rock Hill tomorrow (Friday). After that we play the No. 2 team in the state so I'm really looking forward to that game.
"I'm playing pretty well," he continued. "I'm the no. 2 rusher in our in our region. The no. 1 rusher is my teammate Devin Wherry."
Playing on both sides of the ball, the high profile junior will be a busy man on the field this season. But off the field, Gilmore won't have much time to rest as the recruiting process is sure to be a busy one.
