Class of 2020 Florida defensive back Fred Davis continues to see his offer list grow, with programs like Florida joining the mix over the past month. And while new programs are joining the mix every day, Davis said he’s already well on his way to building bonds with a few major programs.

“South Carolina was one of my first offers and I’ve been getting to know the coaches well,” Davis said. “Coach T-Rob (defensive coordinator Travaris Robinson) is a cool guy. He and one of my coaches played together and he’s told me a lot about him, too. He loves defensive backs from Florida and he told me I can be the next guy to go up there and have success.”

Davis said the Gamecocks early interest was enough to convince him he needed to see campus for himself and he took a visit to watch the school play a home game in November.

“I went up there for a visit in November and that’s when they offered,” Davis said. “I went for the Florida game and got to experience what it’s like there. The atmosphere was great, it was amazing being in the stadium.”

Davis said several other programs are pushing to see him in person during the spring and he’s working on setting up trips. Near the top of his priority list is a trip south to check out in-state program Miami.

“Miami is hitting me up a lot right now,” Davis said. “They just want to get me down there to visit campus. I haven’t been down there for a visit yet. I think I’m going to go down in the spring when they have a big junior day or something like that.”

The U is just one of several schools Davis said he hopes to see soon, adding Alabama, Virginia Tech, LSU and a return trip to South Carolina are all on his list.
