Favorite Schools: Committed to South Carolina.
Skinny: One of the Palmetto State’s most explosive players has given a verbal commitment to the Gamecocks.
“Kendrick made his decision (on Tuesday),” Dorman coach David Gutshall said. “He gave his commitment to South Carolina. I think he liked their coaching staff, the kind of offense they’re running now, and the fact that he would get to play close to home.”
Gutshall said Lynch picked South Carolina over Clemson and a host of others.
“He was getting mail from anybody and everybody, but it was going to be one of those schools all along,” he said.
In Lynch, the Gamecocks will be getting perhaps the state’s fastest player.
“He’s the fastest guy we’ve ever had, and we’re talking about a lot of fast kids to come through here,” Gutshall said. “He can absolutely fly. His explosiveness is unreal, whether he’s playing running back, wide receiver or special teams. He’s an incredibly skilled player.”
Lynch played wideout as a sophomore, recording 806 yards receiving. He moved to tailback last year and had 1,530 yards rushing, 365 receiving and 21 total touchdowns.
Gutshall said Lynch has some work to do, academically. He speculated that South Carolina would place him in a junior college if he didn’t reach the minimum requirements.
