Sound Mind Sound Body: Recruiting notes

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- The Sound Mind Sound Body camp series stopped in the
nation's capital on Friday and many of the region's top players came out to

compete. Here is the latest recruiting info on those players.
Eley adding offers
Ayinde Eley
Ayinde Eley received a Michigan State offer on Friday after the camp.
The 2017 prospect from Olney (Md.) Good Counsel has come a long way over the
past couple of years adding a lot of muscle to his frame and reading and
reacting much quicker. Virginia Tech is Eley's other most recent offer. He has
a lot of connections at Virginia Tech with former teammates on the Hokies'
roster. He also holds offers from North Carolina, Iowa and
Syracuse.
Proctor is no gamble
Nathan Proctor is quickly becoming one of the most highly sought-after
prospects in the state of Maryland for the 2017 class. His most recent offer was
from Virginia Tech. Proctor recently made the trip from Indian Head (Md.) Lackey
to Miami and seemed to really enjoy the university's campus, the coaches and
the athletic facilities. Proctor is very careful about pointing out favorites
and does not claim any just yet but he is making sure to talk to every school
that is offered them and gave each of them their shot. His last visit for the
summer will be to Georgia for Dawg Night in July.
Nelson getting back into process
Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha cornerback Brenton Nelson has been getting a
lot of attention lately and, as a track star, is finally getting back into
football recruiting. Boston College is Nelson's most recent offer and they are
really pushing to get him up on campus. He also feels like Kansas is showing a
lot of interest. Wake Forest and Penn State have yet to offer but are really
staying on him. He will visit Penn State in mid-July.
Sullivan-Brown nearing double-digits
Cameron Sullivan-Brown
Cameron Sullivan-Brown has close to 10 offers up to this
point. The Laurel (Md.) St. Vincent Pallotti star's biggest offer is from N.C.
State. He did well at a camp there and ended up picking up the offer. Temple,
Buffalo, Marshall and Kansas are the schools that have offered that have
grabbed his attention. Florida, Maryland, Illinois and Virginia Tech are
showing a lot of interest. Wake Forest, Penn State and Maryland will host
Sullivan-Brown in July.
Ahead of schedule
Penn State and Maryland have added their names to 2018 defensive lineman
Austin Fontaine's offer sheet. He doesn't seem to know much about the
two programs and did not follow them much as a child. Fontaine, out of
Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha, visited Maryland and did their camp on Thursday he
enjoyed talking with the coaches and getting coached by them. He expects to
visit Virginia Tech and Georgia in July.
Fast riser
AJ Lytton is only a 2018 prospect and already has an offer from
Wisconsin. The Upper Marlboro (Md.) Wise defensive back does not know much
about the program but seems to be doing more research on the Badgers and many
other schools across the country. Clemson, Miami, Boston College, N.C. State
and many others have shown interest in him. Most of these schools have asked
Lytton to come to campus to get a better look at him.
Young has visits planned
Chase Young
Chase Young now has five offers. East Carolina was first and then
N.C. State was next. Within a three-day span Young picked up offers from
Maryland, Illinois and Penn State. The Hyattsville (Md.) DeMatha budding
star seems to be taking a very close look at Penn State partly because his
teammate Shane Simmons is committed to play for James Franklin's program. Young said he really likes coach Chad Wilt
from Maryland. He plans to visit
N.C. State and East Carolina in July. Tennessee and Virginia have shown a
lot of interest in Young.
