SOUTHFIELD, Mich: Rivals.com's Josh Helmholdt takes a look at 10 sleepers who emerged at this week's Adidas Sound Mind Sound Body Football Academy:

WR Brandon Bean, Southfield, Mich.:

Bean was on his home turf this past week and looked very comfortable over the two-day camp. The big question college coaches have with Bean is his speed; but that is an area we have definitely seen him improve since last fall, and he is getting close to where he needs to be to pick up Division I offers. The 6-foot-2, 196-pounder already has the size, hands and body control needed at the position.

TE Pete Cender, Howell, Mich.:

The tight end position in the Midwest is loaded for the class of 2013, and that has likely kept Cender from accumulating the offers he would see in a normal year. He does hold three early offers, but Cender has competed with, and often outperformed, tight ends with BCS offers. At 6-foot-5 and 220 pounds, Cender is a great combo tight end who can stay tight and block defensive ends or flash out and be an extra receiver.

OC Jalen Dandridge, Detroit Crockett:

The 6-foot-3, 270-pound Dandridge has an ideal build for the nose tackle position in college and we have been waiting to see him line up on the defensive side of the football to show what he can do there. However, Dandridge is dead set on playing on the offensive line in college, and he made a strong case for staying in that role with his play this week. Dandridge went blow-for-blow with every interior defensive linemen in attendance and rarely was beaten.

DE Daniel Davis, Grand Blanc, Mich.:

Davis is a prospect who has been slowly building momentum this off-season and should really start to see his recruitment take off after his performance at Sound Mind Sound Body. The 6-foot-3, 240-pound Davis is a big body at the defensive end position but has a great first step and the explosiveness to rush the passer. He was winning the majority of his reps going against some of the camp's top offensive tackles.

LB Michael Hicks, Fort Wayne (Ind.) Concordia:

Hicks makes regular appearances on these sleeper lists. He needs to make the transition to non-sleeper status, because he has shown the tools time and again to be Division I linebacker. However, the 6-foot-3, 237-pound prospect is still awaiting his first offer. At SMSB, he tried working at defensive end to garner some attention and showed off his 4.5 40-yard dash speed by blowing past some outstanding offensive tackles.

DE Hollis Jackson, Detroit Denby:

The 6-foot-3, 210-pound Jackson was one of several lean and fast defensive ends in attendance at the Sound Mind Sound Body Academy. He played last fall for Denby High but may transfer over to Detroit Loyola this coming fall, which would put him as a complement to class of 2014 star Malik McDowell at the defensive end spot. The speed those two would bring off the edge will keep quarterbacks up at night.

WR Jared Murphy, Columbia City, Ind.:

With his commitment to Miami (Ohio) on Friday, this will be Murphy's last appearance on a sleepers list. But at the time of the Adidas Sound Mind Sound Body Academy he was still without a Division I offer. His play this week, combined with outstanding performances with his AWP team throughout the off-season, helped the 5-foot-10, 180-pound Murphy earn the offer from the Redhawks.

Wangler has put a lot of work in this off-season with his Maximum Exposure teams, going head-to-head against some of the top defensive backs in the country. Wangler is always going to be a possession receiver; but his speed is coming along, and he has been timed as low as the 4.5 range for the 40-yard dash. The 6-foot-2, 190-pound Wangler is a physical receiver and a technician when it comes to route-running.

DB Jamison Whiting, Minneapolis (Minn.) Washburn:

The 6-foot-3, 170-pound Whiting was part of a contingent of prospects from the Twin Cities area who made the trip down to southeast Michigan to show their wares. We had seen Whiting earlier in the spring, but he was then playing the wide receiver position. He took many more reps at free safety at SMSB, though, and that looks to be the position where he has the highest upside for the college level.

LB Xavier Woodson, Eufaula, Ala.:

Woodson originally hailed from the state of Michigan and still has family in the state, which was why he was in town for this week's Adidas Sound Mind Sound Body Academy. At 6-foot-2 and 200 pounds, he has a very athletic frame and drew a lot of attention from the college coaches in attendance. UAB, Troy and Arkansas State have already offered, and he will get some Midwest looks after his appearance in Detroit.
