Sooners latest to offer Clement

Thibodaux (La.) E.D. White tight end Chase Clement, a Rivals.com Junior All-American, certainly has the early scholarship offers to prove he's one of the nation's top prospects.
The 6-foot-5, 240-pounder has already added offers from such schools as LSU, Florida, and Ole Miss. Oklahoma recently informed him that an offer was coming from the Sooners and Southern Cal has made phone calls to the school recently.

Clement couldn't be happier with the early recruiting success.
"It's awesome," Clement said about recruiting. "The experience is crazy."
LSU was a one-time leader for Clement. While he says that the Tigers are up there on his list, he's trying to keep his options open early on.
"They're up there, sure," Clement said. "I'm real interested in them. But, it's too early to make any sort of a decision. I want to see all of my options and get to know all of these schools."
The Tigers will be hosting Clement for a visit. The Louisiana linebacker plans to take in the LSU junior day on Feb. 24.
"That's the closest one I know about," Clement said. "I might be going to Florida's junior day, but I don't know when that one is going to be at."
While he gets a chance to play both sides of the ball at E.D. White, he says that he feels he'll have a brighter future on offense.
"I catch the ball well," Clement said. "I can basically make the tough catch when I need to. I'd probably rather play defense in college, but I know that I can probably take my career farther on offense."
Clement is a member of the Rivals100 to watch for the Class of 2008. He was a Class 3A honorable mention all-state selection as a junior.
