Sooners in front for Georgia DB

Jalyn Phillips is not shy on social media and he likes to keep people wondering just what is going through his mind as you can see in his tweet just over a week ago.

The 6-foot, 170 pound defensive back out of Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer had a strong junior campaign and he has pulled in over 20 scholarship offers, so what type of a decision is he referring to and just how soon does "soon" mean?

As a top recruit, most recruiting fans that see a tweet like that think a commitment could be right around the corner. If one does come soon for Phillips, the No. 20 safety in the country, then it looks very good for Oklahoma.

"Oklahoma is my top school right now and I plan to go out there (for the first time) February 17," said Phillips.

Sooners head coach Lincoln Riley has been showing Phillips a lot of attention and that has played into the interest level being high.

"Coach Riley and I have a great connection and we are talking every day. He came up to the school with coach Cooke and coach Walker and he is showing a lot of interest."

He will learn a lot more about the program in Norman once he visits next month, but there are a few other things he likes already.

"Oklahoma is just a great program overall. It is in the Big 12, so it will help me with my future and I like that I have a chance to come in, play early and make an impact there."

For now, when Phillips says "decision soon", he is leaning more towards a summer decision before his senior year, but that could change after he takes some visits in the next couple of months.

His first visit in 2018 will be to Tennessee this weekend.
