Sooners, Illini, Gators latest to offer OL

Big lineman Bruce Campbell III has received three more offers since he showed his stuff at the Elite College Combine in early May. As the evaluation period winds down, Campbell is becoming the hottest commodity in New England.
The 6-foot-7, 268-pounder has received new offers from Oklahoma, Florida and Illinois. What did he think about them?

"To tell you the truth, I was surprised and shocked by the offer from Oklahoma. They've got a good program going and I'm very interested in going there," he said. "I don't know too much about Illinois's program because they hadn't really looked at me before. I haven't really looked at Florida either. They hadn't really talked to me until they offered."
Campbell claims he still has no favorites at this point in recruiting.
Recently, Campbell had a solid showing at the Elite College Combine, but he wasn't satisfied.
"The combine was good, although I didn't feel I did so well," he said. "I was told not to bring cleats and that hurt my times because we were on turf and I was in sneakers. The drills went okay; I ran 4.8 in the shuttle and 40-yard dash. I usually do a little lower around 4.7."
What about Campbell's one-on-one performance?
"They were good, I actually felt I did pretty well there," he said. "I don't know who I went up against, but I won three and the last time was a tie."
What did the lineman show scouts?
"I think I just showed them my skills and technique that was about it."
Campbell has received visits from Purdue, Nebraska, Virginia, Maryland and Michigan State during the evaluation period.
As for next year, the quiet lineman is looking to get stronger and faster to help lead Hyde Leadership to another state championship.
As a junior, Campbell was named first team all-state.
The lineman has a solid 2.6 GPA.
