Junior to Watch: Fred Strong
School: Austin, Texas

Position: Wide Receiver
Size and Speed: Strong is 6-foot-3 and 188-pounds. He has been clocked at 4.48 seconds in the 40-yard dash.
Statistics: Strong caught 34 passes as a junior for 770 yards and eight touchdowns.
Honors: For his performance on the field, Strong was honored as a first-team all-district selection.
Favorite Schools: Strong received his first scholarship offer recently from Oklahoma. He also is being recruited by Texas, Texas Christian, Texas A&M, Iowa and Oklahoma State.
Skinny: Strong's scholarship offer from Oklahoma was the first for the talented wide out.
"The Sooners were the first to offer me," Strong said. "I'm getting some mail from Texas but not a lot. I'm going to go to Texas' spring game. I'll get a chance to talk to the coaches some too while I'm there."
With the early offer from the Sooners, can fans expect a quick decision?
"I really don't know. I want to make sure I do the right thing. I don't want to rush into a decision. I'm not going to put a timetable on it. I've always liked Texas since I've grown up here."
Strong will get a chance to improve his talents and show them off for coaches this summer.
"I'm going to the Nike camp at Texas A&M in May. And I'll go to one at Texas during the summer too. We'll see how things go at those before deciding what will happen."
