Sooner commitment still looking

When Lawton (Okla.) Eisenhower defensive end Larry Birdine committed to Oklahoma many fans were surprised because of his strong family ties with O-State. Well, now those are pulling him to make a visit to Stillwater.
"We told Larry when he made his commitment to OU that it was something that wouldn't allow you to take other visits," Eisenhower coach Bill Whiteley said.

"But he just came in here and said he want to take his other visits. We tried to tell him that if you're committed you don't go cheating on that other school. But when the other guys on the team started setting up their visits, he felt like h was left out and started lining up a bunch, too."
Now Birdine is set to visit O-State this weekend, followed by a visit to Missouri next weekend and another one to A&M in January. Whiteley said he was unsure when Birdine was going to visit Oklahoma.
"We tried to tell him that this is like being married and still dating," Whiteley said. "But he wanted to do it anyway."
Whiteley said Birdine does still consider the standout defensive end as a Sooner commitment, but obviously it’s a commitment that is now soft.
