Some standouts for Melifonwu

Crunch time is coming for this recruiting cycle and Fred Melifonwu is feeling a little bit of pressure to start setting up official visits.
The San Diego (Calif.) Lincoln defensive end who looked good at the recent Cal State Game said Colorado leads his list of favorites and that San Jose State, Nevada and Hawaii are also up there.

"Colorado is sticking out the most and possibly San Jose State is a school I'm looking at," Melifonwu said.
"That's the reason I'm taking a visit to Colorado is because of the coaching staff. I think I can make them a better team."
Melifonwu, a 6-foot-5, 210-pound three-star prospect, said he plans to call the Colorado coaches soon to set up a date with the Buffaloes. San Jose State and Nevada are also being worked on and Hawaii is set for Feb. 2.
The San Diego Lincoln standout said visits are crucial for him to reach a decision on which program is best for him.
Throughout his recruitment other programs like Washington have been involved but Melifonwu said it's basically Colorado, San Jose State, Nevada and Hawaii that are showing the most interest in the weeks leading up to signing day.
"That's basically where it's headed," Melifonwu said.
"I'm going to call Colorado soon to firm up that visit. Nevada and San Jose State could happen too and then I'm going to Hawaii on February 2."
Really, Melifonwu just needs to get in touch with the coaches to set up visit dates with only three weekends remaining and get it done. That is supposed to be worked on as soon as possible.
"I'm not sure about visit dates yet," Melifonwu said. "I'm going to call the coaches soon to set up all the dates."
