One of the most intriguing prospects in the 2015 class is Rivals250 Watch List member Jordan Whitehead. The defensive back from Monaca (Pa.) Central Valley has so many offers right now that he can't even keep track.
"Penn State, Pittsburgh, Ohio State, West Virginia, Virginia Tech and Michigan are sticking out right now," the 5-foot-10, 165-pound Whitehead said. "There are probably 15 more, but I don't know about them right now."
Whitehead is not the first star player at Central Valley. Former Rivals100 wide receiver Robert Foster graduated from Central Valley in 2013 and went to Alabama.
"I talk to Robert a lot," he said. "He sent me a text before the WPIAL championship game. We don't really talk about recruiting too much."
Foster's recruitment took some interesting twists and turns and Whitehead had a front row seat the entire time.
"I liked the process at the beginning, but now my dad handles most of the letters and stuff," Whitehead said. "It picked up a little bit already, but now it'll pick up again soon. I'll probably be narrowing down to five schools soon. I'm going to narrow it down so things don't get too crazy for next season and make a decision later. I'll probably narrow things down in a month or two."
A few schools are already in good shape with Whitehead.
"I like Ohio State because of Urban Meyer," he said. "My friend Malik Hooker talks to me about them. I like it down there.
Whitehead also has his eyes on Pittsburgh and Penn State.
"I like Pitt because they start freshman," said Whitehead. "If you're good, they'll put you in. I've been talking to Dravon Henry about everything.
"Penn State is a great team. They're coming off the sanctions soon. I'm talking to all the coaches up there."
Central Valley went 11-2 and lost in the WPIAL finals.
