Solid Top Five For WR

Blue-chip recruit Derrick Harper of Montclair, N.J. has his list narrowed down to five lucky schools. The 6-foot-3, 180-pound receiver is considered one of the top players in the east and has more than 25 offers to show for it. Last season Derrick caught 35 passes for 800 yards and eight touchdowns. He also returned two punts for touchdowns and averaged better then 25 yards-per-return.
“I finally have a top five, they’re not in any particular order. I like Maryland, Notre Dame, Virginia, Florida and South Carolina. They are my top schools right now and if I had to take my visits over a five week period, that’s where I would go.”

Derrick likes something a little different about every school in his top five.
“I like the location of Maryland, it’s a little closer than all the others and they are building a nice program. I love the tradition at ND and the new offense that they installed. UVA is really beautiful and I like the coaching staff and if you’re a receiver, Florida is perfect. Coach Lou Holtz is the main reason why I like South Carolina, plus I love the location.”
Derrick plans on making all five visits and will be setting dates sometime in the next few weeks. He would like to try and visit most of the schools during the season.
“I’ll be planing my visits very soon. I want to go to a few games and make those visits official ones. I still believe I will need to wait until after the season before I decide on a school, but you never know. It’s nice to be down to five.”
