Solid student looking for 1st offer

Rogers, Texas Justin Bane has played wide receiver and safety in high school, but he might end up in college at other positions than those two spots.
Last season as a junior, he had 29 receptions for 457 yards scoring six touchdowns at wide receiver. He made 51 total tackles, broke up 36 passes and had an excellent nine interceptions playing safety. One of the interceptions was returned all the way back for a touchdown.

The 6-foot-3, 181 pound athlete ran the 40-yard dash at a recent Nike camp in 4.6 seconds.
He made second team all-district as a safety and first team all-district as a receiver. He was named to another first team that covers the central region of Texas and first all-state by one publication.
On the recruiting front he has had The Air Force Academy and Texas A&M visit his school for film evaluations.
"I'm just getting known, as I come from a very small school," Bane said. "Baylor is paying more attention to me and I've made an unofficial visit there for their spring game."
His heart is with one school, but he feels it is not meant to happen for him.
"If I had to commit today, I'd go to Michigan, but that's never going to happen so it would probably be Baylor," he said. "I was invited to a spring game at Arizona, but couldn't make it because of school."
He continues to receive letters or calls from Oklahoma State, North Texas, Oklahoma, Arizona State, Texas A&M too.
"No, distance won't be a factor, as I'll look at the offer and for somewhere I can play," he said about whether distance from his home might be a condition on the school he chooses. "Just so I get to play. It's playing the game that's important not where I play."
He is being recruited by some schools as a receiver and others as a safety.
"I'm a team player, in that I can learn any position on the team and play it," he said about a position in college. "I have a real love of the game, a nose for the ball as I just seem to have a knack for finding the ball, and I don't like being beat."
What are some of your other strong points on the field?
"I feel like any ball in the air is mine no matter where it is on the field and it's my job to go get it. It doesn't matter whether I'm playing offense or defense, it's my job to get any ball in the air. I have soft hands and run good crisp routes. I really love the pressure of the game and thrive on the pressure on the big game."
He plans to attend mini-camps at Texas A&M, Baylor and maybe Arizona, as well as possibly others.
He will also attend some camps in preparation for playing quarterback for his high school team next season.
He is realistic in when the offers might start to come his way.
"The offers will probably wait until they see me play this next season," he said about future scholarship offers.
When asked about his five official visits, he said, "I actually didn't know that I got five official visits."
"My ultimate goal for next season is the state championship by winning each game in succession," he said about goals for the coming year. "You know by going one (after another) and then win the state championship game. I want our defense to hold opponents to less than 100 yards per game and no three and outs on offense. As a receiver no dropped passes and as a safety no getting beat deep."
Bane benches 230 pounds and squats 340 pounds. He has a measured 30 inch vertical leap.
He is a solid student in the classroom with a 3.67 cumulative grade point average.
