SoCal WR stands out at NIKE

Wide receiver Kevin Cummings (6-2, 175, 4.53) from Encino (Calif.) Crespi has had an outstanding offseason and has stood out at every camp he has been at this spring including last Saturday's NIKE Camp held in Palo Alto, Calif., where he was among the top five receivers at the event.
Cummings displayed outstanding routes and caught nearly every pass that was catchable. On one than more route, he had his defender going in circles.

Cummings has good bloodlines, his dad played wide receiver and running back in the CFL and his cousin, E.J. Woods is a four-star incoming freshman safety headed for UCLA.
The whole Pac 10 except USC is recruiting Cummings. In addition to local schools, UConn, Purdue and New Mexico are also showing a lot of interest in Cummings.
Cummings is not planning on slowing down anytime too soon, he has a very busy camp schedule planned.
"I'm going to camp at New Mexico, Washington, Arizona, Arizona State, Oregon State and UCLA," Cummings said. "That's all I have scheduled for now, but there could be more."
What is Cummings looking for in a college?
"A good up and coming program that I could come in and make an impact," Cummings said. "Locations doesn't matter to me. I could stay close to home and play for UCLA or go all across the country to play for UConn. I know coaching staffs change all the time, but I would like to enter a program with a stable coaching staff."
Cummings is very athletic and though he has played predominately wide receiver, but as a senior he's going to pull double duty as a senior and add cornerback to his responsibilities. It is very realistic that if Cummings shines at the cornerback position, he could end up being recruited as a defensive back.
Cummings plays long and is lean. He has the potential to gain weight without losing a step.
Another thing to like about Cummings is he's a very good student who is already qualified. He carries a 3.2 GPA and took the SAT as a sophomore without really working and aced a 1300.
