SoCal WR catches another offer

Four-star wide receiver Shaquelle Evans (6-2, 190, 4.45) from Inglewood, Calif., has been sizzling this on the recruiting trail as he has already picked up eight offers, five of them are from Pac 10. At this rate Evans could end up having up to 20 offers plus by the time spring ends.
If Evans had any doubts that UCLA was going to offer the talented wide receiver they were put to rest on Saturday when he was on hand for the UCLA/Oregon game on Saturday.

"I went to UCLA and met with Coach DeWayne Walker and Coach Rick Neuheisel and they offered," Evans said "I took a tour of the campus and then went to the basketball game.
"It was a great game because UCLA is my favorite college basketball team," Evans said. "It was fun for me to see them in person. I had to jump out of my seat for Russell Westbrook's dunk.
"I grew up a UCLA fan and that will be a strong part of my decision process, but not the deciding factor," Evans said. "The college that has the plan to win on a consistent basis will be key.
"Location will also be a small factor," Evans said. "If I have to leave the area, I will, if that school is the best fit for me.
Every team is even right now and Evans made it clear that he doesn't have any favorites. He does have an idea when he will make his decision.
"I plan to make my decision sometime before the season," Evans said. "I want to make the decision before the season so I can focus on team goals and win games."
Besides UCLA, Evans has offers from USC, Arizona, Cal, Oregon, LSU, Colorado and Notre Dame.
Evans is planning on attending the NIKE Camp to be held in Los Angeles in April.
As a junior Evans, accounted for 30 receptions and 608 yards while scoring three receiving touchdowns. He had one kickoff that he returned for 86 yards for a touchdown. He also had one rushing touchdown.
Evans earned all-league and all-area honors for his performance in 2007.
