Three-star wide receiver/cornerback Orlando Scandrick (5-11, 175, 4.5) from Los Alamitos, Calif., has seen his stock get red hot after picking up two Pac-10 offers recently. He was scheduled to take a visit to UTEP this past weekend but he canceled.

“I put the UTEP visit on hold for awhile,” Scandrick said. “Now that they are moving into the CUSA it’s a little farther away from home.”
Moving into CUSA means that UTEP won’t be playing as many games in California or in the West.
Scandrick will be taking a visit this coming weekend (Nov. 19th) to one of his most recent offers Washington State for an official visit. He will be in the audience for one of the northwest’s biggest games the Apple Cup against in-state rival Washington.
The other Pac-10 to recently offer was Oregon and he will visit the Eugene campus on January 7th. Notre Dame and Arizona State have also picked up their recruitment of Scandrick.
The other two set visits are to Colorado State on December 3rd and Fresno State on December 10th.
“I am open for my fifth visit,” Scandrick said. “You never know what’s going to happen.”
The talented two-way player has 36 catches for 650 yards and seven touchdowns so far this season. He has also collected 18 tackles and interceptions from his cornerback position.
“I am very open to playing either wide receiver or defensive back,” Scandrick said. “I just want get there.”
“I want to play defensive back,” Scandrick said. “There aren’t many 5-11 wide receivers in the league but with hard work and dedication I think I have a better chance getting to the league as a defensive back.”
Scandrick is already qualified with a 2.8 GPA and a 870 SAT.
“I know I can do better on my SAT,” Scandrick said. “That’s why I’m going to take it again.”
