SoCal TE is heating up

Keep your eye on fast rising tight end prospect Pierce Richardson (6-6, 230, 4.78) from Encino (Calif.) Crespi. His name is becoming known to recruitneks and it is a good bet offers are soon to follow.
Richardson was very impressive at the recent NIKE Camp held in Los Angeles and caught the attention of many there. He passed the eyeball test and showed good things athletically, too. He's not sure what other camps he will attend. Richardson is going to wait and see what schools show him the most interest then he will go to their camps.

On the recruiting trail, schools such as Arizona State, UCLA, Washington, Boise State, San Diego State, UNLV and Florida State are showing Richardson interest.
"I went to UNLV's Junior Day," Richardson said. "It went well, but I'm keeping my options open."
"I'm going to visit Florida State soon for an unofficial visit," Richardson said. "I talked to Florida State coaches on Monday (April 27th). They told me they liked my film and think I'm versatile. They think I can play tight end, wide receiver and H-back."
"Boise State likes me a lot and they came by the school on Monday," Richardson said. "They liked my film and they want to keep their pipeline of tight ends to the NFL going."
"I talked to Arizona State today (Wednesday April 29th)," Richardson said. "They said they are very interested in and they want me to visit them unofficially."
What is Richardson looking for in a college?
"First of all I am looking for a good education because that is most important," Richardson said. "Then I am looking for a school where I can play right away."
"Location will also play an important part," Richardson said. "I want to leave California for school. I have been in California my whole life and I am looking for a different experience."
As a junior, Richardson had 10 receptions from 144 yards. In the weight room, his current bench is 265, squats 350, power cleans 265 and has recorded a 28-inch vertical jump.
