SoCal receiver makes plays

Culver City, Calif., high school has a tremendous track record over the last eight years for sending their best players to the D-I level and it looks like once again the school will have multiple prospects with the ability to play D-I football. One of them is wide receiver Edwin Tillman (5-9, 175, 4.5).
Tillman was a first-team all-league performer after hauling in 45 receptions for 709 yards and five touchdowns. He also plays some running back, rushing for 202 yards and three more touchdowns on the ground.

Tillman is getting recruiting attention from Idaho, Washington State, San Diego State and UNLV. Look for his list to expand in the very near future.
"We are just beginning to get Edwin's stuff out to colleges," Culver City recruiting coordinator Greg Goodyear said. "We were waiting on his grades and we have seen a lot of improvement."
"There is no question about Edwin's ability," Goodyear said. "He has the school record for the longest punt return."
"It was a 95 yard punt return that changed the complexion of the game and put us in the position to have a chance to win," Goodyear said. "Edwin ended up making the game winning touchdown catch, too."
"That's the kind of player Edwin is," Goodyear said. "He makes plays. Edwin can stop and start on a dime and has great side to side lateral ability."
"Edwin has the ability to play on either side of the ball," Goodyear said. "He starts for us as a wide receiver for us and plays some running back. We also use him on defense as a cornerback where he intercepted two passes in spot duty."
"There are some who think that Edwin could play corner on the D-I level," Goodyear said. "When he's playing corner, he will come up and bang you. He's incredibly tough."
"Edwin is a game breaker."
