SoCal RB poised for huge senior season

There isn't a high school out West this year that will likely have more players sign with Div I schools than Compton (Calif.) Dominguez. Dons coach Keith Donnerson estimates that close to 10 of his players will land scholarships and another with early offers is running back Elijah Wesson.
Wesson, 5-9, 165 pounds had a solid junior season rushing for 1,078 yards and 12 touchdowns and should really blow up this year running behind one of the state's best offensive lines in a run dominated offense. The athlete also had a solid showing at the SoCal Nike camp clocking a 4.62 in the 40 and showing up very well in the position drills.

"He's hearing from schools all over and will be one of our most heavily recruited athletes," Donnerson said. "He's a very good running back, runs hard, has the moves and is fast. By the time the season gets going, I could see Elijah with more offers than anyone else on our team."
Wesson said he currently has three offers and two schools stand out.
"Colorado, Nevada and Northern Arizona have all offered me and I like Colorado and Nevada a lot right now," Wesson said. "All three of those schools have called me and I'm getting letters from just about all of the Pac 10 schools and a lot of others. Right now, I'm not thinking that much about recruiting, I'm just really excited about our season.
"Our first game is this weekend and we have such a great offensive line, I think it's going to be a great season for us. I haven't set up any of my official visits yet but I think I want to take all five for sure. I know I'm going to visit Colorado and Nevada and I'm pretty interested in Oregon too."
Academically, Wesson said he's carrying a 3.34 GPA and scored an 800 on the SAT. He said he plans to take both the SAT and ACT several times in the coming months.
